- Players should plan all travel, appointments, and events around the YJS training season.
- Players can be excused at any point with no refund for attendance, behavior issues, academic standing issues, and parent behavior.
- Academics are the most important aspect to a player’s resume; however, players are expected to plan ahead in academics to maintain their GPA without missing training. If players are expecting to play lacrosse at the next level, then they need to learn to balance work, exams, and training as that will be their lifestyle for four years.
- Players are expected to check emails and texts regularly for updated information.
- Playing time is not equal. In a championship setting, playing time is not guaranteed.
- The most aggressive, skilled, fit, and coachable players will earn playing time during contests.
- Allow YJS coaches 48 hours to respond to any request.
- Attendance: Lacrosse recruiting camps/clinics/Varsity practices/Varsity Games and/or being unwell are excused absences.
- Attendance: Major family events such as; weddings, graduations, and religious rites of passages should be communicated in advance.
- Attendance: Dual-sport athletes are expected to communicate in advance regarding conflicts. Cooperation and planning should occur with YJS administration on how to create a balance between the two sports. Dual-sport athletes are expected to be physically present at another athletic event for the absence to be justified. Excessive, last minute dual sport absences may result in dismissal.
- Attendance: Attendance affects playing time. Attendance can affect a roster spot.
- Attendance Long Distance Players: Players who are outside a 2-hour radius (about 100 miles) will operate within a unique attendance policy. The 2 practices before the tournaments will be mandatory; as well as 2 additional pre-selected practice dates by the family. Then the rest, will be optional based on time/availability. Players are encouraged to attend everything if their schedule permits. The prices will not change based on a decision to miss practices. Players operating under this attendance policy will be responsible to submit weekly training and connect with teammates to get practice reviews.
- All players are prohibited from playing for/with any other club lacrosse organization unless approved by the Yellow Jackets South administration.
- Accepting a roster spot on a Yellow Jackets South team infers an understanding and adherence to all of the policy criteria above.
